What sort of things do you say in your wedding speech?

October 20th, 2010

I don’t really know what to say in my speech. I’ve never been to a wedding before, and everyone I’ve asked have just said to say how I feel about her.

I don’t know how long it has to be, and I know what I’ve already done will NOT be long enough at all.

This is what I have so far, is it appropriate and what other sort of things should I say?

“Perfect. Absolutely perfect. Everything about her. Hair, lips, eyes, body, style, personality, everything. Perfect. She’s the most beautiful girl in the world. Absolutely gorgeous. I love her with every bone in my body.”

I think most of what you wrote is about her looks, which is only skin deep. I think something more meaningful would be about your feelings towards her. A special memory you shared and how you met, how you knew she was the one for you. Definatly mention she’s beautiful just not too much detail…Good luck:)

My husband and I had a rather comical approach to our speeches & vows.
Speeches are rather a short story on how you felt when you first laid eyes on her, how you first met, Best things that have ever happened together, expressive way to explain the love you have for her. Then at the end thanking the parents for bringing up such a wonderful daughter and moulding such a great partner in life and best friend. Thanking everyone for coming and sharing your special day!!
    Hope that helps…

That isn’t bad, but talk to her! Look in her eyes and say it to her, not everyone else! Tell her what she means to you and how much you love her and look forward to spending your lives together!
