Does anybody know if you need a permit to have a wedding on the beach in S.Carolina?

getting married next aprill in s.carolina we want to make it a beach wedding but are wondering if theres a permit needed and if so how much? thanx

    Oh wow the beaches here are crummy! Why dont you go to Florida where the nice beaches are! Clear blue water sugar white sand sand, palm trees…….. But yeah you need a liscence.

    Your best bet is to contact the location you plan to be married at and find out for sure from them since it can vary greatly. You may not need a permit for a private beach, or a beach owned by a resort or hotel, but you may need one for a public or state owned beach.

    On public beaches the answer is technically yes. However most, 85%, of the time no one will ever ask for it. I’m unsure of the price of a permit.

    Usually you have to apply for a City Permit.
