Average Price of a wedding reception at a hotel?

Hey guys
im doing a project for a family relations and parenting class in high school and we have to plan our ENTIRE future wedding. ive been looking around for several hours about how much a reception at a hotel will cost but cant seem to find anything. i just need to know the estimate and dont want to call because like i said, im not ACTUALLY getting married.

i want mine to be at like a hilton or hampton inn or something
doesnt have to be crazy nice
and im planning on about 200 guests.

    Depends on your area. A nice hotel wedding near NYC would cost you about $125 per person (that includes food, bar, cake, linens, everything you would need for a reception).

    I know you said that you don’t want actual info from the places, but I think it would help you get extra points with your project:

    Go to the website of a local hotel that seems nice to have a wedding at. Find the wedding section and request info. Every place that has weddings has a package put together that they can email to you. It would only take about 5 minutes and would really help your project.

    I know you don’t want to go to the hotel because you don’t want to waste their time, but I think if you called the wedding coordinator at hotel and explained your situation she would probably give you the package papers without trying to ‘sell’ you on having the wedding there. That way you have an accurate estimate and have papers to back it up.
